Frequently Asked Questions
The question we are most often asked by foreign people is:
"How to get Koskenkorva Viina from abroad?"
To our knowledge Koskenkorva Viina ("Kossu") is sold only in Finland
and on the ferries travelling to and from the country. It might also be
available in places where Finnish people buy their tax-free liquor while
visiting neighbouring countries such as Sweden and Estonia.
Some years ago there was a company that exported Kossu, along with
other Finnish products, but sadly they seem to have gone out of business.
The only trace of the company we were able to find was their
defunct website at www.exfennia.fi with a message
from 1999 claiming that the pages will soon be opened to the public.
We also tried to send a bottle of Kossu to the US a couple of years
ago but found out that it cannot be done, not in a legitimate manner
anyway. It is illegal according to the US postal regulations or the law
to send alcoholic beverages to United States.
We wish good luck to all our foreign friends and happy hunting for a
company that could supply you with Koskenkorva. Meanwhile you are most
welcome to visit Finland and buy your favorite drink here.
